NSI Partnering Closely with Taaleri

Nordic Science Investments has been operational for 2.2 years and we’re now working with a portfolio of 22 early-stage, science-driven companies. That progress matters. But the real story is what we are building towards.

Science-driven startups are becoming a new asset class in Europe. Not by definition, but by necessity. If Europe wants to stay competitive, an increasing share of its next globally relevant companies will be built on science. The conditions for building them continue to improve. Alongside stronger spinouts and more ambitious founders, AI is beginning to increase the leverage of science itself by accelerating parts of discovery, expanding what small teams can do, and improving the conditions for building science-driven companies.

We see the momentum every day. Stronger spinouts, greater conviction, better equipped teams. But we also see the gap. Europe does not lack ideas or research quality. It lacks execution across the full journey. From spinout to scale, science-driven companies require a different kind of company-building: broader capabilities, long-term commitment, and tighter alignment between science, capital, and industry.

Our work with portfolio companies is built on a long-term horizon. These companies are usually built over a decade, not a funding cycle. Early on, it’s about combining exceptional science with real commercial capability. Later, the challenge shifts to industrialization, scaling, and securing the right long-term capital to continue the journey.

To step up to this, NSI is partnering closely with Taaleri. This is a deliberate move. It strengthens our ability to support companies beyond the earliest stages, extends our reach beyond the New Nordics, and adds proven experience in building and scaling investment platforms. Taaleri brings a strong institutional position, broad and established investor relationships, with little overlap with NSI’s relationships, and compliance capabilities, positioning NSI for its next phase of growth and greater scale ahead.

The ambition is simple. To turn more breakthrough science into real companies, and more of those companies into globally relevant businesses. Starting from the New Nordics, with a clear role in Europe.

We are excited to partner with Taaleri and to build together for the years ahead.
